Michelle Oluwatomi Akanbi, better known by her stage name TÖME, is a young and talented artiste making all the right waves in the industry at the moment. She is a Nigerian-French based in Canada and perhaps that blend in nationality and culture has a lot to do with her interest in mixing in different genres into her unique Afro-fusion sound.
TÖME started out as a precocious talent. She has been writing music since the age of 8 and playing music instruments, with special love for the guitar, from when she was 10. Her first project, though unofficial, was an EP titled One with Self, released on SoundCloud in 2015. In the year 2019, she took the bold decision of quitting her 9-to-5 job as a marketing executive to face music professionally and from that point on began an incredible journey which has culminated in the release of 2 full length projects (Tomesroom Chapter 1 and BT4W), a world tour with Mr Eazi and sharing stages with the likes of Burna Boy and Wizkid. An impressive feat for any newbie and one born of immense talent, meticulous planning and being intentional about her brand.

TÖME is not taking her foot of the pedal and with the release of a 3-pack single titled I Pray with none other than world famous singer Sean Kingston scheduled for 24th of September, it’s safe to say she is about to expand her fanbase and popularity. So if you’ve been sleeping on this brilliant artiste, now is a time as good as ever to get familiar with her and everything she represents.
