Should you be afraid of AGI?

Here's why some of the smartest people in the world are concerned: 👇

1️⃣ First, there’s the alignment problem: how do we make sure superintelligent AI shares our motivations? We don’t want it turning us into paperclips just because it’s trying to maximize production.

2️⃣ Then there's the fact that AI is outpacing our ability to check its work. We’re now using AI to evaluate AI. What could possibly go wrong?

3️⃣ Lastly, the idea of superintelligence lying in wait for years, imperceptibly steering us toward disaster. Aka: sleeper agents.

But here's my thought-provoking question of the day:

👉 Should we assume that absolute power corrupts absolutely?

What if superintelligence is more like a Japanese train system —efficient, predictable, and reliable?
