Game file corruption [FIX] Oblivion

Fix for the corruption of save game files on Oblivion. The game crashes easily as most will know, due to it's age, but that shouldn't mean you have to lose your save files. It's a great game, and the last thing I wanted when my saves corrupted was to stop playing. Not to mention the play time I had. I'm the master of the Fighter's Guild, Arch-Mage of the Mages guild and Champion of the Arena for Christ's sake! Not to mention all those other cough 100 sidequests I did. Luckily after a moment of despair, I decided to mess around and found a fix that worked for me.

If you follow the steps exactly, it should work. Make sure you don't Quick-save or Auto-save when you load your fixed (originally corrupted) file, save via the tilde key (`) through the console. Just follow the steps as I go through them and you should have no problems. If the fix works and you can Auto-save and Quick-save again, I would advise deleting your corrupted Auto-save/Quick-save by Shift-clicking the save slot. Just make sure you keep the un-corrupted one.

If you've got any questions you can ask in the comments, if you come across problems I will try my best to help you solve them; this fix is something I found out by messing around with files, I don't know exactly why everything does what it does when you use this method or even why it works, but it does. I just shared my random fix with you in case anyone else had my issue.

Also yes. I did call my character Cactus.
