LAMINATE REPAIR DIY - How to perfectly fix a damaged laminate in 5 minutes

Описание к видео LAMINATE REPAIR DIY - How to perfectly fix a damaged laminate in 5 minutes

How to quickly and reliably restore damage to the laminate without dismantling and complex work? Laminate flooring is very popular all over the world. It is installed in both houses and apartments. During installation or operation, chips, dents, bumps, scratches and other visible defects often occur on the laminate surface. Such damage can be easily repaired with the help of local surface restoration technology. Everyone can do it. In this video, I will show the process of restoring a large chip on the surface of a new laminate. During the repair work, the workers caused this damage. A heavy sharp object fell. In order not to dismantle the entire laminate, they decided to restore this damage. For work, I use professional restoration materials and KONIG (Germany) tools. But you can also use analogues.

Work process:
Before starting work, I clean and degrease the damaged area.
To fill the depth of damage, I use restorative hard waxes for local restoration of floors and surfaces subjected to operational loads. The wax is filled using a soldering iron with a convenient nozzle. You can use a gas or electric soldering iron. The working melting temperature of hard waxes is 80-90 C. For restoration, we select the necessary shades of waxes. To obtain the necessary shades, different colors of wax can be mixed with each other using a soldering iron. The filler(wax) is applied to the damage with a small excess. After 1-2 minutes, it cools down and hardens. After that, carefully cut off the excess with a special plastic spatula with teeth. I restore the lost structure of the surface with waxes of the appropriate shades. For an ideal repair, I paint the detailed texture of the laminate with restoration acrylic paints with a thin brush. At the end, the restored place must be covered with a transparent restoration varnish of the necessary gloss. In this case, the varnish is semi-matte. You can use the restored laminate after 2 hours. The restoration is complete!
