There’s no doubt that the events in Ukraine have made children more aware of conflict and its impact, and we know many of you are looking for ways to help children understand. Our friends at Walker Books would like to offer their support, and have kindly asked author Nicola Davies to do an incredibly moving reading of her book “The Day War Came”, illustrated by Rebecca Cobb.

It tells the story of a child forced to become a refugee when war breaks out, and is published in partnership with Help Refugees and endorsed by Amnesty International, and we hope through this video, educators will be supported to explain what’s happening in the world right now.
