0:00 - Intro

1:46 - 1. Your film can be a collection of memories. As long as you make sure there
Is an investment in the characters, the audience will find these memories
As significant as the person recalling them.

3:19 - 2. Recall memories from your past and recycle things from your own
Experience from that time. Use autobiographical things as a starting
Off point.

5:21 - 3. Cram a lot of interesting things that happened to you over time into one
Night for your screenplay.

5:46 - 4. Make your actors your screenwriting collaborators; if they are closer
To their character than you are, have them write down real intimate
Conversations they’ve had with people.

6:41 - 5. Anything can be a story. From small moments that happened to you in your life to big epic stories. Cinema is a type of media that offers all kinds of possibilities to tell a story.

7:05 - 6. People talking can be just as cinematic as anything else. Conversations can
Be good for understanding the essence of a character and for conjuring
Pictures in the viewer’s minds.

7:55 - 7. Think of every movie you make as if it were the last one you will ever make;
That way you won’t hold back and will be able to pour everything into it.

9:19 - 8. Use time as a structuring device. Time is something we can all relate to.
It helps us process the world.

10:12 - 9. Humor can be healing at difficult times. Add moments of levity in any
sequence that you think is too serious.

10:47 - 10. When choosing what story to tell, make sure it is personal and you relate
To the characters and situations they are in.

11:07 - Outro
