Wisdom Christology: An Introduction to Its Origins

Dustin Smith introduces Wisdom Christology by surveying its appearances within various books of the New Testament while giving attention to its origins in the Book of Proverbs. The result is that God’s “wisdom” (i.e., God’s wise interaction with and instruction to his creation) appears as a personified female figure, and early Christians drew on portrayals of this personified figure in their depictions of the human Jesus.
