Join us as we explore the breathtaking beauty of Girraween National Park, located in Queensland’s Granite Belt region, just 40 km south of Stanthorpe. Known for its spectacular wildflowers, stunning granite landscapes, and diverse wildlife, Girraween offers an unforgettable adventure for bushwalkers and rock climbers alike.

In this video, my friends and I tackle three iconic summits: Mt Norman, Castle Rock, and Turtle Rock. Girraween's granite outcroppings, such as the Pyramids and Castle Rock at 1112m, dominate the scenery, offering dramatic views of the park’s unique geological formations. We hike through clear streams, wetlands, cascades, and open forests along well-graded trails to major features like the The Pyramids. Mt Norman, the highest point in the park at 1267m, rewards us with incredible panoramic vistas.

Girraween, meaning "place of flowers" in the local Aboriginal language, blooms with vibrant flora in spring, while the Golden Wattle begins to flourish in July. The park is home to rare fauna, including common wombats, spotted quolls, lyrebirds, and turquoise parrots. Eucalypt forests and heathlands provide a rich habitat for diverse birdlife, while the Wallangarra whitegums grow only in this region.
