সরকার তথ্য কারচুপি করে না। তবে অনুকূলে না থাকা তথ্য সরকার সহজে সামনে আনে না বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন পরিকল্পনা উপদেষ্টা। বিশ্বাসযোগ্য পরিসংখ্যানকে বিনিয়োগ হিসেবে দেখার আহ্বান তিনি। সাবেক তত্ত্বাধায়ক সরকারের উপদেষ্টা ড. হোসেন জিল্লুর রহমানের মতে, এখানেই অনেক পিছিয়ে বাংলাদেশ পরিসংখ্যান ব্যুরো-বিবিএস।

The government does not manipulate information. However, the planning advisor commented that the government does not easily bring out information that is not in its favor. He called for seeing credible statistics as an investment. According to Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, former advisor to the caretaker government, this is where the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) lags far behind.
