American former professional boxer, athlete, as well as an actor and film producer Michael Gerard Tyson, was born on 30 June 1966, in Brownsville, New York City, and Tyson rose to prominence in 1988, when he fought against Michael Spinks for the title of a linear world heavyweight boxing champion, knocking his opponent out in a matter of 91 seconds. Throughout his lengthy boxing career, Mike Tyson fought in 58 matches, out of which he won 50, 44 by knockout. Often referred to as “The Baddest Man on the Planet” or “Iron Mike”, Mike Tyson had an opportunity to fight against such boxers as Lennox Lewis, Kevin McBride, Trevor Berbick, Tony Tucker, and Donovan Ruddock. In his personal life, Mike Tyson has married three times, firstly to actress Robin Givens from 1988 to ’99, then to Monica Turner from 1997 to 2003 – they had a son and a daughter. Since 2009, he has been married to Lakiha "Kiki" Spicer - they have a daughter and a son. Tyson served three years in jail on a rape charge from 1992, and has admitted to problems with drug and alcohol addiction, having been arrested for DUI. He has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and was a vegan for a few years apparently for medical reasons.
