About Ranjak Rizvy :

Ranjak Rizvy is one of the dedicated souls enriched simultaneously with journalism and drama activities. It’s better to say that he started with drama first, then journalism added soon after in his plume. One was not conflicting with others rather both were complementary and led him to success. He earned success in both arenas. It was 1996; he enrolled in acting on stage with Gorai Krishti Sangha in Kumarkhali in Kushtia. After that, he thronged to Kushtia for study and admitted to Kushtia Government College. Here journalism was added with his feather. During his study, he was president of Kushtia Government College’s drama organization ‘College Theater’ for four consecutive years. This time, he acted in many plays as an active playwright of Bodhan Theater. Among the notable plays he acted in are Bakful Kanya, Khyatir Birambana, EkusheyFebruari, Kheyal and Devtar Grass.
This time, Rizvy took part in street plays staged in almost all the unions of Kushtia district. He also directed several of those. Ranjak also wrote a number of plays. These are: Itibetta, Vishnu, Kelikitta, Asampradayika, Kheyal. Some of the plays were adapted from Rabindranath Tagore’s collection of stories. Ranjak Rizvy also acted in plays at Bodhan Theater in Dhaka and Chuadanga district. With this, journalism was not backward. He worked as news editor at Kushtia based Bangla daily newspapers The Dailky Ajker Alo and Andoloner Bazar for a decade. He also was Kushtia district Correspondent at Dhaka based Bangla daily Jaijaidin. In 2008, he joined at news section in national popular television channel Ekushey Television. Later, in 2012, he served as the news editor and talk show anchor of the third generation technology based television SATV till 2020. He is currently working on establishing a private satellite television channel in Dhaka. Ranjak Rizvy has an equal skill in journalism as well as acting. He has also conducted research on Baul philosophy for a long time. He has a good relation with many elderly Bauls and he regularly visits many Akhras across the country.
