New Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Review - Stainless AP ROO Watches!

The new AP Royal Oak Offshore models are HOT! On this review, I focus on the stainless steel models.

Even though the new AP ROO watches look similar to the prior models, there are some subtle differences.

On the new Royal Oak Offshore models, the pushers and the crown are ceramic. On the older version of the watches, they were made of rubber, and would wear out over time. They were just not as durable and on the new models.

The buckle mechanism on the new stainless watches has also changed and is a bit narrower. Some people complain because they want a deployant clasp, like on the old versions, but the new clasp is sporty and very comfortable. The old clasp was actually a bit uncomfortable to wear.

I don't see anything wrong with the change. If you want a deployant clasp, you can always look at the Royal Oak line instead.

The caseback on the new watches is finally a clear sapphire caseback. This allows you to see part of the movement in the watch a lot better. Now you get to see a bit of what you actually paid for!

The dials on the new Aps are pretty much the same as before, with the same waffle design, but Audemars Piguet changed the hands a bit and also the numbers are thinner.

I really love the new navy dial!

The AP Panda is also no more. It's replacement is called the “Vampire.”

Out of all the stainless pieces in the new AP line, my favorite is the gray on gray AP Elephant.

The Safari is the one that I actually like the least. The retail price on the new models is $26,000, but you can easily pay as low as $19,500 for an unworn version and $17,500 to $18,000 for a pre-owned version.
