In this episode of Archinest, we explore a remarkable 4x20m townhouse in Vietnam designed by Trinhvieta-Architects. With a total of 238sqm across multiple levels, the project reimagines the traditional narrow house by introducing an “intermediate space” that connects every corner of the home. Courtyards, internal voids, and sliding glass roofs bring in light, air, and greenery—transforming a typically enclosed typology into an open, refreshing living environment.

At the heart of the design are three elevated Babylon gardens, rising above the ground to create a lush vertical landscape within the house. Combined with natural ventilation, clever layering of spaces, and a louvered façade, this townhouse becomes a model for sustainable urban living in dense Vietnamese cities. It’s a powerful example of how architecture can turn limitations into opportunities for comfort, light, and connection to nature.
