1990's budget WEAPON! ... Southern Hemi's- Custom Aussie made Chrysler Valiant 1966 VC UTE 360 wedge 4 speed Aussie Borg Warner single rail manual with RT E49 dual plate clutch etc. Results achieved on a very tight budget and just using what Jeff had lying around were 0 to 100 kph in 4.4 seconds. Quarter mile 11.9 seconds with a home made Valiant "C.I.G. Locker" rear axle by Jeff (welded up) She even ran a full dual exhaust whipped up from NOS Val Pipes and factory cast iron large outlet manifolds.
(By the time these shots were taken, it was down on 1 cylinder with a sizeable chunk of a piston missing due to high octane fuel not readily available at the pump for the high compression in the 1990's)
In another configuration with a standard 2.77 Chrysler CJ Limo 4 pinion rear axle (as seen in this video) she could smoke the rear tyres on demand at up to nearly 90 kph by knocking down a gear and stomping on the throttle to open the secondaries on the huge 850cfm Holley double pumper carb and do Zero to Sixty mph in 4.7 seconds in First gear only! Standard iron J heads with 273 Solid lifters, no porting! Originally a rough old 225 Slant six with 3 on the tree manual column shift until saved and re-built and resto modified by Jeff. (And while it was still looking rough in primer patches was a great sleeper and gave keen hotted up Holden Maloo Utes (and pretty well anything else) a shock as you went flying past them sideways in a cloud of tyre smoke after giving them a big head start, usually when they confidently instigated it first, and when I was taken off guard at first. They were not happy Lol.
This shoot was done just before she was pulled off the road and fitted with an excellent 273 and Auto and moved on.
At great effort to try to stay away from traffic and do the safest thing .... wherever possible shots were filmed on quite private roads etc out in the bush with full permission from owners etc after we met with them first and explained that we were selling her and that this one day was our last chance ever for some footage of the beast. The night burnout shot was performed in an abandoned industrial estate with permission from the security guard.
