How To Install Sweat-On Shutoff Valves

Описание к видео How To Install Sweat-On Shutoff Valves

Those shutoff valves under your bathroom vanity or kitchen sink can seem intimidating to replace, but the process isn't that difficult. There are different types, including Shark-Bite style, compression style and the sweat-on or "soldered" style. The last one can make DIYs nervous, but in this video I will go through the steps and make it easy. Sweat-on valves are durable and can be replaced in the future with ease. When I do a bath or kitchen remodel, I replace them as a matter of course, since they tend to fail with time. You can sometimes just replace the washer, but if the seat is corroded that will have limited effectiveness. I prefer to replace the whole valve and start fresh.
