Creating a Carnivorous Bog & Crevice Garden

Описание к видео Creating a Carnivorous Bog & Crevice Garden

Hi All,
It’s been a minute since I’ve posted with all the building we’ve been doing, but I’m back with a fun
video.

I’ve been soooo inspired by crevice gardens lately. They are pretty much rock gardens made up of many sliced layers of stone creating thin crevices for plants to grow in. They are usually built outdoors and used for growing succulents, cacti, or alpine plants. I wanted to mix this idea with a bog garden theme and create a display in the new greenhouses to enjoy.

I mainly used carnivorous plants called Pinguicula or butterworts as they produce beautiful flowers and thrive in this setup. The lava rock base layer provides awesome drainage and the Pings love growing in its porous surface. I made sure to drill holes roughly an inch or less below the surface on the trough. This makes sure the water doesn’t rise too high with our overhead irrigation.

I Hope you enjoy this video and I’m looking forward to seeing you all more often!

Thanks for watching,
Dom
