We visit Audlem Festival of Transport 2022 | Includes car FAIL, Triumph Mayflower talk & more

Every year the Audlem Festival of Transport appears on our radar and we take something along, this year we decided upon a dual entry - dad in the 1956 Standard 8, and me in the 1924 Dodge, accompanied by Harley and Mrs OCC. Both cars were given a spruce-up, a fresh drink of petrol, and set off in very damp weather over to Hankelow, from where a leisurely classic cars road run takes place down to Audlem and the local playing fields where the cars congregate for the remainder of the day.
At least that was the plan, alas the Standard decided to expire part way through the journey, resulting in us abandoning it in a helpful farmer's yard while we carried on, all piled into the Dodge. Initial prodding suggested a fuel supply issue rather than anything relating to damp weather, but more on that in a future vid once I've had a proper peer under its bonnet to see what caused the fail.
The lousy weather soon cleared and by the time of the convoy into Audlem itself at 11am, the weather gods were shining down upon us, as they did for the remainder of the day.
Stand-out exhibits for me this year included an immaculate vintage Austin 12/4, a "Royal Navy" liveried Bedford lorry - complete with boat and trailer hitched to the rear, a very unusual Lada estate, a 3-door SAAB 99 turbo, a flotilla of sidevalve Fords, an incredible Albion char-a-banc, and a glistening Jaguar Mk9. Thanks also to the owner of the immaculate 1952 Triumph Mayflower who agreed to having a chat about his car for this video. Classic & vintage cars as far as the eye could see, plus bonus aerial visitations from an Avro Anson and a North American T28 Trojan.
