Why Are There Gold Nuggets In Cold Rivers?

Today I went gold hunting to my favorite river (again) to get under water and snipe for gold nuggets! But this time, I'm a crazy guy.. ITS FREEZING but since there Is so much gold in this river, I have to get out there! During the winter the water is high which is helpful because I can work in areas that are normally out of the water. That wont stop me from finding good gold !
