I’m always curious with what you folks out there in the Internet land. Think about the sounds of different musical instruments. What do you think about these guitars? Which one do you prefer? Are there any particular sound qualities/tonal characteristics that you prefer from one to the other? I just did this in one quick shot, no editing… I was noticing in the middle of the video that the Hamm-tone had the Trussrod a little bit too straight for my liking. Collings has a fair bit more relief in the neck. Comment down below and like and subscribe!

Update: I just checked the interweb, and currently there are a variety of these Collings D1 model guitars in the price range of $6,522.66 to $11,103.75 (CAD). As of 2024, I start at $3950 (CAD)for a guitar similar to the D1. Surprising actually.

I remember being a kid in the 1980s, going to Canada’s Wonderland and in the parking lot there would be the Pepsi taste patrol. The psychology behind the Pepsi taste patrol was interesting, in that it seemed as though if you guessed which the Pepsi was, and then you preferred the Pepsi and explain that to the representative, you’d get a prize. I didn’t realize that you get a prize regardless, of whether you chose Coca-Cola or Pepsi. I think the way that the psychology was set up with that survey, the participants would naturally cheerlead the Pepsi product. You can tell the difference. You want the prize. You say the right thing.

Well, regarding these guitars, please don’t be too kind. If you prefer the Collings, say it. It’s a very good Collings. One of the best. It just doesn’t have a real dovetail joint. 🤣
