Ever wondered what vintage UK prison drama 'Within These Walls' would be like if it featured incidental music - and particularly the same incidental music as vintage Australian prison drama 'Prisoner Cell Block H'?! Well, wonder no longer…

In this clip from the third series episode 'A Free Woman', gossipy inmate May Leckwith (in for petty theft - supposedly having deliberately got herself put away for the first time in order to have a 'holiday' from married life!) is happily cooking away in Stone Park's kitchen with her cell mate and fellow gossip Edna Dewfall, when Edna causally mentions something (involving her own husband and some 'special powders') that shocks May to the core - and begins to make her realise the reality of prison life and of her own situation. With 'PCBH' library music added for effect (tracks: 'Baddy' by John Fiddy, from the Bruton Records LP 'Kids and Cartoons' ; and 'Phantasma' by Dennis Farnon, from the KPM Records LP 'A Fear of the Dark').

Clip features Margery Mason (as May) and Joan Hickson (as Edna).
