Описание к видео Challenge 99: Infinite Sum of the Difference of Roots

Congratulations to Marco Brezzi, Quwertyn, adandap, mstmar, Shakeitpiggy, Nicola C, Mohith S N Raju, Viraj Agrawal, and Samuel Kim for successfully solving the last challenge question! Marco Brezzi was the first person to solve the problem.

This challenge problem and solution were proposed by PhyMath MaSics.

For this challenge problem, I will accept the more intuitive solutions even if they are not fully rigorous. Having stated that, I included two verifable assumptions in the problem statement to potentially assist the viewers who wish to craft a more rigorous argument, although there likely are many other rigorous methods that do not necessitate either or both of these facts.

The first assumption was proven with a gracious help from MathStackExchange. However, its proof will not be discussed in the explanation video to focus more attention on the beautiful intuitive argument. The second assumption is the special case of Theorem 3.5 in Chapter VII of Serge Lang's "Undergraduate Analysis" (2nd Ed.).

Welcome, everyone! LetsSolveMathProblems presents one math challenge problem approximately every 7-31 days. The problems are selected from those submitted by any interested viewers: If you have a problem you would like to share, propose a challenge problem and its solution to [email protected]. To participate in the challenge, please comment your answer and explanation below (or discuss potential solutions with other viewers), keeping in mind that your comment should be left unedited to win the recognition prize. Up to the first ten people with correct solutions will be recognized in the next challenge video. The solutions to some challenge problems are posted as separate videos. If you wish to see a solution video to a specific problem, please leave a comment below, and I will take it into consideration.
