This is not your regular monitor: it has a terrible name, can swivel, turn and be put vertically and it's very big.

I want to start this review of by saying that this is one of those monitors that doesn’t have a real name. It’s not called the Philips Alpha 5.000 or the Philips Nimbus One, but it’s called the Philips 328P6VUBREB/00.
Or is that the product code? Well I don’t know, it was even difficult to search for this screen on Google in the first place.

So now we got that out of the way, just to be clear, the name won’t make this screen any worse or any better. This is a 31,5” 4K UHD LCD-monitor.
And for most reviewers this is the perfect screen size and I’m going to stick with that opinion as well.
It’s clear with a nice pixel density, good colours and almost no scaling on most of the devices, so everything remains the same quality.

So yeah, this screen does a very good job showing the true colours when editing or Photoshopping, but one cool feature is that you can swivel the screen to put it vertically.
To be honest, I wouldn’t really use it, but it’s cool and might be useful for designers and other creative people.

And when I say creative people, I really mean that this is meant for creative people. This is a USB-c screen with HDR and Ultra-Wide-Color for getting the best real life colours when editing photos for example.
With these ‘real life colours’ I mean more natural green, vivid red and deeper blue. Yes, I got this from Google, and it’s probably a bit exaggerated, but in my opinion the colours look really nice.

The HDR performance on this monitor is best in brighter pictures. The darker scenes lack a bit of darkness, but for me it did not really bother me.
The contrast changes automatically when there’s more or less light in the room, so that’s a nice feature as well.

I’ve been talking a lot about creative people and editing and all that, and that’s because this is not a screen for gaming, because it has one major issue: high input lag.
There is also no variable refresh rate and it has weaknesses with pixel responsiveness. Although it has a response time of 4 ms, this won’t be your best choice for gaming.

The operating system is difficult to master, but also something I never use on any monitor.
Maybe I should use it more, but on the other hand, I don’t care enough about these settings and want to have a good screen out of the box without tweaking.


This monitor also won the Tech Award from Reshift together with the Airpods, Chromcast and other products, so that’s pretty sweet. It has a lot of ports, which is a big plus for me and it also has speakers built in.
These are not the best, but it’s better than having to buy external ones.

For 400$ this ís a good monitor for video and photo-editing, it’s versatile: which means you can bend swivel and turn it upside down if you’d want to, but it’s not made for gaming or other fast paced stuff.
Overall very nice monitor with vivid colours and nice screen ratio for doing your creative work.
