Celestron Classic OrangeTube C8 (1980)

A quick show and tell of this 1980 Orange Tube Celestron 8. These are the original C8's made and marketed by Celestron from 1970 until 1983 when they were superseded by the Super 8 and then the Super 8 Plus. Despite the cloudy corrector plate and cloudy mirror diagonal - the view matched my 2020 Carbon Fibre C8 in sharpness and contrast. The only things needing attention are the cloudy corrector plate and mirror diagonal, the finder is missing its eyepiece (would replace with a red dot finder) and to replace some bolts on the tripod. All small easy upgrades for its next owner. Back in the 80's these were all made in the USA - that's now a feature of premium telescopes.
