At the 2017–2018 Opening Night Concert & Gala the Seattle Symphony honored Leslie and Dale Chihuly for their significant contributions to the Symphony and the Seattle community.

Currently in her 14th year on the Symphony's Board of Directors, and her ninth and final year as Chair, Leslie Chihuly has led the organization through a period of significant change, working tirelessly to reposition a treasured civic organization, while establishing integrity, transparency, collaboration and excellence at all levels. During her tenure Leslie has imbued the Symphony with an affirmative spirit, driving the organization forward.

Dale Chihuly holds the position of Artist in Association at the Seattle Symphony. His partnership with the Symphony began with the commissioning and donating of the Silver and Gold Crystal Chandeliers by Jack and Rebecca Benaroya. The two chandeliers, which adorn The Boeing Company Gallery, were created for the opening of Benaroya Hall in 1998. Dale's partnership with the Symphony continues through creative collaborations that champion art in all its forms.

Leslie and Dale Chihuly are involved with numerous nonprofit and philanthropic organizations both locally and internationally with a focus on health, education, music and the arts.
