Upholster Your Car Door Armrests in about 30 minutes

The plastic arm rests on my MR2 do the job but they creak a bit against the other plastic trim so I thought why not add a bit more colour to the interior and cover them with matching cloth. This also got rid of the creaking. If you want the cloth to match the rest of your interior you are going to have buy an old seat or door cars to get the material. it may be worth spraying them with scotchguard or something similar to prevent staining and keep them looking nicer for longer.

Regarding which glue to use...this is up to you. I used carpet glue as I used to be a carpet fitter and am used to this product but what ever glue you use make sure it can take the high heat it will be subjected to on sunny days and always follow the manufacturers instructions as some glues can be nasty stuff!

I was going to have the armrests padded but with the foam on they looked wrong for the lines of the door card so I removed the padding and they looked much better. Any questions drop a message in the comments :)
