Bell Palsy (Facial paralysis) Treatments

Описание к видео Bell Palsy (Facial paralysis) Treatments

Bell's palsy is a condition that causes sudden, temporary weakness or paralysis in the muscles on one side of the face. It results from damage or trauma to the facial nerve, which controls muscles on one side of the face. The exact cause is often unknown, but it's thought to be due to swelling or inflammation of the nerve. Symptoms can include drooping of the eyelid or corner of the mouth, drooling, dryness of the eye or mouth, and changes in taste. Most people with Bell's palsy recover fully within a few weeks to months, but in some cases, the symptoms may persist or recur. Treatment may include medications to reduce inflammation and swelling, eye care to prevent dryness or injury, and sometimes physical therapy.
