Silver Lake | Walking LA

Описание к видео Silver Lake | Walking LA

This week Ginger and I explored the neighborhood of Silver Lake. Our walk first meandered through the residential area west of Sunset Boulevard. This is a hilly neighborhood with steep streets and spectacular views. There are numerous flights of stairs sandwiched between an eclectic assortment of houses that allow access for residents. This walk allowed us to experience some of these stairs that older districts of Los Angeles are known for. One set we walked was the Music Box Steps, a historic staircase made famous in the 1932 Laurel and Hardy film, The Music Box.

We emerged from the neighborhood on busy Sunset Boulevard. The Silver Lake business district caters to young professional hipsters, artists, and musicians. The street has a unique mix of funky specialty shops, cafes, upscale boutiques, vintage clothing stores, and restaurants. We received an excellent tip from our foodie peep, Cathy, to try Wood Pizza. Ginger and I split a caprese salad and rapini and sausage pizza. Oh man, the pizza and salad were delightful!
