Bumblefoot, or an infection or sore in the foot, is one of the most common reasons we see chickens at our vet hospital.

Mild cases may be able to be managed at home with daily foot soaks and changes in husbandry.

More severe cases need antibiotics, pain medication, and surgical debridement to remove the hard pus that builds up.

In the most severe cases, the infection may spread to the bone, which can be deadly.
