Graphene Battery at Home: Laser Inscribed Graphene (Part 1)

Описание к видео Graphene Battery at Home: Laser Inscribed Graphene (Part 1)

Part 1 of 2 showing one of the ways I learned to make a battery using graphene.

Part 2:

The purpose of this channel is to show the work I have done at home and that is different from what I have found online. Please visit    / robertmurraysmith   for the best source of information on graphene available and also my inspiration for this channel.

LIG Materials:
Kapton (R) Polyimide Film - http://www.mcmaster.com/#2271k3/=10km079
40W CO2 Laser - Check Ebay, prices have come way down.
CO2 Laser YAG POwer Meter Probe
Laser Engraver Modificatons:
Added a honeycomb bed - http://www.lightobject.com/300X200-Ho...
I removed the analog controls and used an Arduino Uno so I can have better control over the laser power. If you would like a video of this process, let me know!

Top Electrolyte Materials:
Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) Powder (C2H4O)
85% Food Grade Phosphoric Acid (H3PO4)
1g PVA + 10mL DI water, heated and stirred at ~90C until solution is clean. Let cool to room temp then stir in .8g H3PO4 for 2 hours. Pour mixture into petri dish and let dry for ~48 hours at room temperature.

Bottom Electrolyte Materials:
Choline chloride, Ethanaminium
99+% Urea Commercial Grade Nitrogen Fertilizer
Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) Powder (C2H4O)
Mix choline chloride and urea in a 1:2 mole ratio (remember the moles!), then mix in ~10% PVA at 90C until clear. Once cooled, pour mixture into petri dish and let dry for ~72 hours at room temperature. The mixture included DI water which I think caused the problem, I will update once I fix the conecntration.
