The mouth of the Bark River was totally blocked by sand washed up by a nor'easter. This caused the water in the Bark Bay Slough to rise a foot. I dug a narrow trench to start the water flowing into Lake Superior. In four and a half hours the water flow moved tons of sand and cleared the mouth. Crazy.
