In this video we review the Wyze Smart Plug 1 Year Later. The Wyze Smart Plug is a wifi smart plug that can be controlled remotely from your phone using the Wyze app to turn on or off whatever you have connected to it from your phone.

The Wyze Smart Plug is also compatible with Google Home and Alexa voice assistants so you can control it with Google Home or Alexa voice commands.

In my testing the Wyze smart plug it was easy to use and reliable. One potential drawback to the Wyze smart plug is that it does not work with Apple Homekit. It also does not offer dimming functionality only remote on and off.

It should be noted that the Wyze smart plug must be connected to a 2.4GHZ wifi network and not the 5GHZ network with wifi routers. Most newer routers have both a 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ wifi band included, but during setup of the Wyze smart plug you will need to choose the 2.4GHZ network to connect the device to for proper setup with your wifi network. If you are having issues getting your Wyze smart plug it's best to check that you are using the correct wifi network while setting up the device. I have an Eero router and within the settings you can temporarily disable the 5GHZ network on the router so that the Wyze Plug connects to the correct 2.4GHZ wifi network.
