The song "Heroin" by The Velvet Underground talks about addiction and how it can be tempting and harmful. It came out in 1967 on their first album, "The Velvet Underground & Nico." The song describes the ups and downs of using, using strong words and unusual music to make you feel what it's like. Even though it's about a tough topic, the song's bold lyrics and unique style show the band's bravery and how they changed rock music.

The Velvet Underground was a rock band from America that started in New York City in 1964. The original members were singer and guitarist Lou Reed, multi-instrumentalist John Cale from Wales, guitarist Sterling Morrison, and drummer Angus MacLise. MacLise left in 1965 and was replaced by Moe Tucker, who played on most of the band's songs. Even though they didn't sell a large amount of records, their mix of rock and experimental music made them very important in the worlds of underground, experimental, and alternative music. Their songs spoke about controversial things, and they tried new ideas with their music, which also helped shape punk rock, new wave, and other types of music.
