I think the most important thing is to keep applying. I applied to more than 140 places to find my current apartment. I know the struggle is real in big cities in Germany but with some consistency, being fast at applying hopefully you can get a nice place as well.

Here are my apartment search tips in Germany:
- Culture shock coming: some places don't have a kitchen in the apartment but you might buy it from the previous tenant.
- Don't fall for scammers! Pay attention to the ads
- Get premium accounts in the websites, if you are looking for a place in big cities in Germany
- Use facebook or WhatsApp Groups
- Tell it to everyone you know, maybe you can find something via your friends
- Be fast
- Get ready to talk openly about yourself
