Zara Tindall celebrates her 43rd birthday in the midst of royal turmoil

Today marks Zara Tindall's 43rd birthday. She had a hectic week competing at the 2024 Badminton Horse Trials. Zara Philips, the daughter of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, was born on May 15, 1981. The late Queen Elizabeth II, the royal's grandmother, and her mother both had a strong love for horses.

Zara trained to be a professional horseback rider and participated in the 2012 London Olympic Games for the British equestrian team. In 2006, she was voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year and went on to win the Eventing World Championship in Aachen. With her spouse Mike Tindall, the professional rider has three children: Mia, 9, Lena, 4, and Lucas, 2.

On July 30, 2011, Zara wed Mike, a former rugby player, at Edinburgh's Canongate Kirk. The choice to tie the knot in Scotland might have been influenced by Princess Anne, who wed Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence in 1992 in Crathie Kirk in Aberdeenshire. Princess Kate, Prince Harry, and Prince William were among the many royal guests who attended the then-30-year-old's big day. Zara participated at The Badminton Estate in Gloucestershire last week, and her husband and three kids supported her all along the way. The equestrian rider gave an interview about her performance after the event while standing with her three kids.

It was actually quite good, she said. He [Class Affair] actually leaped a lot because he did feel exhausted this morning, but I had one down disappointingly. It's probably the first time ever.Although my father will undoubtedly point out my mistakes, I definitely should have let go sooner. In the cute video, Lucas played with the strap of Zara's helmet while she, still in her riding attire, supported her son on her hip. In the meantime, shy Lena, donning a pastel-colored cap and a floral outfit, stood on her mother's side. The royal pair were dressed in similar pink polos when Mike Tindall posted a rare picture of them together. This afternoon, Princess Anne's daughter and her spouse participated in a golf tournament to raise money for Parkinson's disease, and they were able to draw a sizable crowd. Mike, 45, a former rugby player, and Zara, 43, dressed for the event in pink polo shirts. Peter Phillips, Zara's elder brother, and Autumn Phillips, his divorced wife from 2021, also joined them.

The venue for the celebration was Gloucestershire's Belfry Golf Course, which is close to Mike and Zara's Gatcombe Park home. Mike shared a sweet picture of himself and his wife Zara on social media, which is a rare picture of them together. "I finally got Zara to quit practicing her putting and take a picture with me," he wrote. An image of the royal couple playing golf while dressed in pink was posted with the message.

Peter Phillips, Zara's elder brother, and Autumn Phillips, his divorced wife from 2021, also joined them. Dame Denise Rosemarie Lewis DBE, actor James Nesbitt, and former competitive swimmer Mark Foster were among the couple's friends who attended the celebration, which took place at the Belfry Hotel and Resort in Sutton Coldfield, close to Birmingham.
