Art has the power to heal, connect, and restore. 🎨💙

In this short video, learn how four Central Florida organizations—United Arts of Central Florida, Share the Care, Senior Resource Alliance, and AdventHealth—have come together to launch the Art in Health Teaching Artists Residency, a pilot program designed to support the health and well-being of older adults through creative expression.

Hosted at Share the Care’s Adult Day Health Centers, this innovative program brings professional teaching artists directly to seniors through accessible, eight-week courses including:

Drumming & Percussion
Community Clay Connections
Visual Poetry & Collage
Global Dance & Movement

Each class is thoughtfully designed to support participants with mobility limitations, memory care needs, and neurological conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s—while fostering joy, connection, and community.

With support from AdventHealth, the pilot also measures participants’ heart rate and blood pressure before and after workshops, helping demonstrate the growing role of art as a tool for health and healing.

As our senior population continues to grow, initiatives like this show what’s possible when arts, healthcare, and community partners work together.
