Oliso M3Pro Project Iron and M2Pro Mini Project Iron Reviews | Best Mini Iron for Sewing or Quilting

Описание к видео Oliso M3Pro Project Iron and M2Pro Mini Project Iron Reviews | Best Mini Iron for Sewing or Quilting

This is an honest review of the Oliso M3Pro Project Iron. I am comparing it to the previous version which was the M2Pro Mini Project Iron.

I previously received an Oliso M2Pro Mini Project Iron from Oliso when I launched Hooked on Sewing. Oliso graciously provided me with two irons, the pink M2Pro Mini and a pink refurbished TG1600 Pro Plus SmartIron with Auto Lift. Plus, a M2Pro Mini as a giveaway!

At the time, I was not able to recommend the M2Pro Mini based on my review and use of the iron. It had a few issues that really made it impossible for me actually recommend:

1. The steam function didn't work properly. The buttons were beyond hard to push. And the steam function was not dependable.
2. Because of the way you grip the iron, I was constantly getting my fingers too close to the heat of the iron.
3. The grip was not comfortable or natural for my hand (I have small hands) and was definitely not comfortable or natural for my husband's large hands.

So, I found myself rarely using the iron. And I also could not in good faith recommend this iron. I did reach out to Oliso and told them my issues with the M2Pro Mini. I was informed that they were in the process of developing a new mini with improvements that would address my issues and more.

That brings us to the M3Pro Project Iron by Oliso. As of the filming and writing of this review, I have only had the M3Pro for two days. But, I put it through all my different pressing and ironing scenarios.

The Verdict? The Oliso M3Pro Project Iron is definitely an improvement over the M2Pro Mini Project Iron.

Could I or do I recommend the Oliso M3Pro? Definitely! Here's why:

1. The M3Pro fits pretty comfortably and naturally in my hand. All mini irons have a little bit of awkwardness to them.
2. The steam functions seem to work really well. I also like that you can choose to just use steam in the front or steam in the back of the iron.
3. Being able to stand the iron vertically is a definite plus!
4. Having the cord come up and out of the side of the iron helps to better keep the cord out of the way and enables the iron to stand vertically.
5. A separate power button that is color coded, is a plus. As is the lighted dial.
6. Speaking of the dial, there are three heat settings. The dial actually clicks into place for each of the three settings.
7. An LED light that shines on the fabric in front of the iron? Genius!! I predict there will be more iron manufacturers incorporating lighting into the design of their irons.
8. No burnt fingers! My hand and fingers rest comfortably on the top of the iron and safely away from the heat source.
9. LEFT HANDED? YOU CAN EASILY CONVERT THE IRON. YOU'LL FIND THE INSTRUCTIONS HERE: https://oliso.com/pages/downloads-man... Just look for the "M3PRO PROJECT IRON LEFTY CORD CONVERSION INSTRUCTIONS", then click on the + sign and then click on the Download Here link.

Like I said, I've only had the iron for two days, so this review is based off my limited use of the iron. The opinions and experiences shared are 100% my own.

There is a potential "con" to the iron. I was using it to press seams of some small quilt pieces and I couldn't get the iron to glide smoothly over the seam. If you are a quilter, you probably know what I'm talking about. I used the iron to set my stitches. Then lifted the fabric to press the seam on the right side of the fabric towards the darker fabric. I had to either lift the iron off the fabric and lay it back down over the seam or finger press the seam first. Again, I'll have to use the iron some more before I figure out if I'm just not using the iron properly or if that's just the way it is with this iron.
