Mike Stacey performs "I Want You" on the "Wogan" show called "Song for Europe" on 1/4/87. The song finished in fifth place and was written by John Verity. Mike was born Mike Craft, he used the last name Stacey as a stage name for several years while he was in a comedy act called The Zimmertones. When he joined Smokie he changed it back to Craft again.

Mike Craft (prior Mike Stacey) is the lead singer of the current Smokie. When he joined the band in 1995 it was a tall order to follow in the footsteps of Alan Barton, who was so tragically killed in a road accident while the band were on tour in Germany. Yet Mike has achieved what many Smokie fans described as mission impossible. He has stamped his own voice and character on the band's unique stage and studio sound.
