I love exploring Sweden and I also love road trips. So I decided to go on a road trip in the central areas of Sweden, to discover quaint towns, historical castles, and pristine nature!

This trip took me to a lot of amazing places, ranging from very popular tourist destinations, to some more odd choices:

The town of Trosa is famous for its lovely boardwalk, but it's also known as the end of the world.
Sillekrog is a well-known stop when traveling through Sweden, and I particularly like the 50s diner inspired restaurant called Daisy's.
Nyköping is a town about an hour south of Stockholm, and in the middle of town you can see Nyköpingshus, Nyköping Castle.
The town of Mjölby has a giant potato in a roundabout, for some reason. And it also has a huge pick 'n mix candy store.
Ödeshög is a very small town, but it might actually be the final resting place of the god Odin.
Close to Ödeshög you can also find the Alvastra Abbey ruins, the Omberg Eco Park with Sweden's tallest tree, and Rökstenen, the Rök runestone.
South of Ödeshög you find Brahehus, and lovely views of Sweden's second biggest lake, Vättern.
Gränna is a town most known for candy canes. And from Gränna you can visit the island of Visingsö, where you can marvel at ruins and oak forests, ride a horse and carriage, or just enjoy the lovely views.
Jönköping is a bit of a strange town, since it's grown together with nearby Huskvarna. This is where you can find Dreamhack Summer...at least you could, up until 2024.
From Jönköping I travel to Hornborgasjön, where you can see 30 000 cranes perform the famous crane dance...but that only happens in spring, unfortunately.
I also visit the towns of Skara as well as Lidköping, that lies next to lake Vänern, Sweden's biggest lake.
Läckö Castle is an amazing sight to see, and a remnant of Sweden's Great Power Era.
Kinnekulle quarry is no longer used as a quarry, but it's well worth a detour to have a look at.
And finally, I visit the town of Mariestad, famous for the lager Mariestad, and the town of Örebro with it's lovely - but haunted - castle.

Phew! That's a lot of places to cover in one video.
