Short Notes Description:
This chapter explains the basics of Boolean Algebra and its practical use in computer systems. Students will learn:

Logic Gates:

AND Gate → Outputs 1 only if both inputs are 1

OR Gate → Outputs 1 if at least one input is 1

NOT Gate → Produces the complement (opposite) of the input

NAND Gate → Opposite of AND

NOR Gate → Opposite of OR

XOR Gate → Outputs 1 if inputs are different

XNOR Gate → Outputs 1 if inputs are the same

Boolean Expressions: Representing functions using variables (A, B, C) and operators (· , + , ʼ).

Minterms: Product terms (AND combinations) that are true for one specific input. Example: For 2 variables, minterms are A'B', A'B, AB', AB.

Maxterms: Sum terms (OR combinations) that are false for one specific input.

Boolean Functions: Can be expressed in SOP (Sum of Products) or POS (Product of Sums) using minterms/maxterms.

Truth Tables: Used to find minterms, maxterms, and simplify functions.
