LIVE OPENING: Magic of Monaco

The Principality of Monaco is a jewel on the Mediterranean coast renowned for its magical setting and the quality of the many special events happening each year. This special exhibition which will go a long way towards explaining the Magic of Monaco.

The Monte Carlo Rally was initiated over a century ago, while the Monaco Grand Prix first ran on the streets of the city in 1929, but these renowned automobile related events are not the only world-famous occasions in the city. Concours d’Elegance Automobile Monte Carlo, international Monaco Motor Boat Races, and Monte Carlo Masters tennis tournament have long thrived. For over 90 years the Monaco International Dog Show has also been a special cultural event.

This exhibition Magic of Monaco will feature Rally and Grand Prix cars, such as: 1929 Bugatti Type 37A, 1935 Alfa Romeo 8C-35, 1956 Maserati 250F, 1958 Porsche F2, 1960 Lotus 18 Formula Jr, 1988 Prost McLaren MP4/4, and 1997 Ferrari F310B, among others.

The gallery walls will be covered in a selection from the previously never seen Murray Smith collection of splendid original period race posters, medals, race programs, and advertising material which now represents the history of these iconic events over the last nearly 100 years.
