DOLMA - Tibetan movie

Women Empowerment Desk (WED) under SARD, Department of Finance (CTA) is happy to release a Tibetan movie, "DOLMA" on the occasion of domestic violence awareness month. The movie is supported under the Program for Protection and Humanitarian Assistance for Tibetan Refugees in South Asia. The program focuses on raising awareness and changing attitudes that perpetuate GBV and SEA by building an enabling environment for these changes. It also works towards strengthening the community structures and referral system to prevent  GBV and SEA in Tibetan settlements and schools. 
The movie, Dolma, focuses on the issue of sexual and gender based violence in our Tibetan community. It portrays the realities of the survivors of domestic violence and related issues and to understand better the cycle of the violence. It also depicts the factors that enable such violence in the community as well as overcoming them. Through this film WED aims to raise community awareness on various forms of GBV and SEA, the importance of overcoming it, available services for the same, etc.
