Chulliyar Dam is one of the major irrigation project
in palakkad which gives water to the kollengode
panchayath. Situated at a distance of 36
Kms from Palakkad, it is a scenic place situated
near Kollengode and Meenkara Dam. View of Chulliar Dam
with the western ghats as background is spectacular. Constructed
in 1960, it is built across Chulliyar River, one of the
tributaries of the river Gayathripuzha. The dam and surrounding
places provide an excellent view of the natural beauty. The
adjacent Nelliyampathy Mountains multiply the charm of this
locality.
