My name is Darrell Reese Jr., and I’m an independent filmmaker from a small town in Mississippi with a passion for telling stories that challenge, inspire, and move audiences.

Short Story

The Foundation is my latest project—a short film that delves into the themes of betrayal, redemption, and personal growth. In the film, we explore the journey of rebuilding after hardship, with one of the central themes being the creation of a new Black Wall Street—symbolizing the power of unity, economic empowerment, and resilience in the face of adversity.

This story is close to my heart because it represents the journey of rising from life’s setbacks and finding strength within. With your support, we can bring this story to life. Contributions will go towards creating a high-quality production, ensuring that every moment visually and emotionally resonates with viewers. Together, we’ll craft a film that not only captivates but also inspires communities to envision a stronger future built on the foundation of unity and self-determination.

We’re looking to raise $2,500, which will go towards key production elements, including:

Production Costs: Equipment, transportation, set design, and crew compensation.
