Welcome to another beer from the Rare Beer Club. On this episode I review Petrus Aged Pale from Brouwerij De Brabandere out of Bavikhove, Belgium (West Flanders) This 100% foeder aged beer contains 7.3% abv and according to the bottle is a 5/5 on the sour scale. The beer poured out a golden copper color with an off white head. On the nose I picked up some earthy and lactic tones as well as some fruitiness. There was enough of a sour scent to the beer that made my mouth water. Upon the first sip is was very sour. Like a good Flanders sour with some floral notes and juicy sour notes. The sourness was tempered a bit by the malty sweetness. I also picked up some fresh lemon. This was a crackin beer and I savored ever sip!. If you like Flanders or sours I highly recommend picking up this beer.
