A look at India’s new Parliament building | PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate India’s new Parliament building on May 28. The triangular-shaped four-storeyed building was built by the Tata Group at a cost of Rs 971 crore. It is part of the Central Vista Project. However, the inauguration has been mired in controversy as nineteen political parties including Congress, DMK, AAP, CPI, CPI (M) and Trinamool Congress have announced to boycott the inauguration citing that PM Modi’s decision to sideline President Droupadi Murmu and inaugurate the new Parliament building by himself was a grave insult to the office of the head of the state and a direct assault on Indian democracy.
