Back on the road and adjusting to solo life again, I find myself camping alone in the Arizona desert surrounded by wide open public land and warm winter sunshine. After leaving the community and energy of traveling with others, the quiet of boondocking in the desert feels very real. Living full time on the road means constantly adapting to change, learning how to enjoy the solitude, and finding your rhythm again when the road gets quiet. In this video I take you along for a real day of RV life as I explore town, run errands, and share what life actually looks like while traveling full time in a tiny camper and living off grid in the desert.
While spending time in Arizona I end up meeting back up with friends who many of you know from the RV and overlanding community. Larry from Work Less Enjoy Life More and Mike and Twyla from Runaway Parents roll into the area and we decide to head back out to the same public land I had recently been camped on. The goal is simple. Find warmer weather, escape the colder northern temperatures, and enjoy a few days of relaxed desert camping on free land. This is one of the best parts of RV travel and boondocking life. When you live full time on the road you can simply follow the weather, find beautiful places on BLM land, and set up camp wherever the views are best.
We settle back into desert camping life surrounded by wide open Arizona landscapes, quiet nights, and the freedom that comes with living off grid. Camping on public land allows us to spread out, enjoy nature, and experience the simplicity of boondocking. No hookups, no reservations, just the freedom of RV life and overlanding in the desert. If you have ever wondered what full time RV living, truck camper travel, or tiny camper life really looks like, this is exactly the kind of spontaneous adventure that happens on the road.
After a few days of camping together we decide it is time to start a bigger road trip and head out for the next destination. Road trips always sound great in theory, but anyone who has spent time traveling in RVs or truck campers knows that plans rarely go perfectly. Not long after leaving camp things take an unexpected turn when Runaway Parents start experiencing truck trouble on the highway. We end up pulled over on the side of the road trying to figure out what is going on and hoping it is something simple.
Eventually we make it to an auto parts store thinking we might finally be back on track, only to find out the part needed for the repair is not in stock. Moments like this are part of real RV travel and life on the road. When you live this lifestyle you learn quickly that patience, flexibility, and problem solving are just as important as beautiful campsites and scenic drives. It is all part of the adventure of overlanding, road tripping, and living full time in a camper.
If you enjoy videos about full time RV living, truck camper adventures, boondocking on public land, desert camping, off grid travel, and the real highs and lows of life on the road, you are in the right place. This channel follows the journey of living full time in a tiny camper, exploring new places, meeting incredible people, and learning what it really means to build a life around freedom, travel, and the open road.
