HIDDEN GEM IN A NATIONAL FOREST / COVE LAKE / CAMPING ON THE WATER

Описание к видео HIDDEN GEM IN A NATIONAL FOREST / COVE LAKE / CAMPING ON THE WATER

Located near Mt. Magazine State Park in Arkansas is a beautiful little lake in the Ozark/St Francis National Forest. Cove Lake is a 160 acre mountain lake with a gem of a campground situated on its southwest shore. The sites are non-electric, but there are available flush toilets, showers, and drinking water. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring with grill. There is also a covered picnic pavilion with electrical outlets. The site fee is $15 per day, and the pavilion fee is $35 per day. The recreation area has miniature golf as well as canoe and paddleboat rentals. You definitely want to get out on this lake to fish! It is stocked every other year with large mouth bass, bluegill, sunfish, crappie, perch, and catfish (which are stocked yearly because of the annual kids' fishing derby)! We saw cabins but couldn't find any information about them on recreation.gov. An excellent trail connects the campground to Mt. Magazine State Park. If you are into hiking, the Cove Lake Trail is a moderate/strenuous 9.7 mile trail (only .5 mile is within the state park) but there are other trails around the lake. You'll find some scenic views while lakeside camping! The water views are spectacular! The cute little town of Paris, Arkansas, is less 10 miles away. ‪@hitchinupmovinon8386‬
