Featured in this video is one of the last rear loaders that runs a regular route out of the Elburn, IL shop in combination with some footage of the truck it replaced. In an effort to maximize route efficiency, they have decided to make a lot of the rural residential routes automated rather than rear load, so these days this truck only does commercial containers Mon-Thurs and then this alley route in DeKalb on Fridays. The old truck is seen handling a Casey’s rear load container, and that was an interesting truck because it had the suspension intended for a residential front loader so it rode a lot rougher than most rear load trucks, but it got the job done alright.
