This is a GoPro video (helmet mount) of my engine failure and emergency landing in a bean field during the PRA 2012 Convention in Mentone, IN.
You can hear the engine RPM drop and then the engine sounds bad... then nothing. I had 29 seconds from prop stop to wheels down. That's a lifetime. I had plenty of time to assess the situation and make decisions. I was even having a conversation with my buddy while I was working the emergency procedures. Altitude is your friend and it made all the difference on this one.
