Welcome to my new series - #YogaOfftheMat! As yoga has become so hugely popular, there's a big focus on the physical part of the practice, but a LOT of the rest of yoga gets pushed aside.
So in this series we're going to talk about the history of yoga, the reason why we practice, and the way we can expand our yoga practice to move beyond the yoga mat.

Episode 4 is about pranayama, meaning breath control or breath retention. If we can master our breath we can have an incredible amount of control over our minds and bodies. Practising pranayama can be highly effective for managing stress, anxiety and insomnia.
